Fidelity Select Retailing 1996:

This fund trended quite well in 1996. Like most funds it did not do well during the June-July time frame. One could have sold this fund at when it turned weak in June and bought more shares back when it turned strong again a few weeks later. You would have missed a big fall and a big bounce and been better off for missing both.
