Q: I have tried many home tanning methods and they never turn out. Why is your stuff better? A: I have also tried many different tans, and believe it or not they all work. If fur does not turn out it usually the fault of the person doing the tanning or responsible for the precare. I chose Rittel's after trying many others because I found it the easiest to work with for the results I expected. Q: I was tanning a fox and the hair fell out in the pickle. What did I do wrong? A: You could have done a number of things wrong. The things I would try to recall are. Precare number 1. Was the fox skun and taken care of right away. #2 I assume the pickle was formulated properly, was it kept at 70 degrees? #3 Did you try to crowd too many skins in the pickle at once. The pH of a pickle will raise if there are too many skins. pH should be monitored daily. |
